Really good news this is happening – especially at a time when Sony seems to be losing interest in its own VR platform. I have to say PSVR2 is a lovely piece of hardware that’s been let down massively by the software available. One huge miss was not having first-gen PSVR games be compatible, considering the many people that had invested in an original PSVR (like myself) and had accumulated a decent selection of games they could have used straight away. The final twist of the dagger is in the picture above, namely the one game I’ve been hoping to play since launch – Half Life: Alyx. Maybe it’s unreasonable to even think a game like this could have made it to PSVR2, but even some others like Lone Echo would have been a standout reason to buy the headset. Here’s hoping the PC market embrace the PSVR for what it is, an affordable (compared to some PC alternatives) and very well made piece of kit.

PC support is fantastic, but can anyone at the blog let me know when the consumer can buy VR2 controllers separately? I have to send my unit in for a 303 USD out of warranty for a stick drift repair to play on PS5 or PC.

I’ve been waiting a very long time for an actual Release Date for this to happen. Very smart decision on Sony’s part to integrate with Steam games. I’m all in , and can’t wait for August.

I think this is Awesome. I have just recently built my first PC to experience all types of Gaming alongside my PS5. I already have the PSVR2 and was about to pull the trigger on an exclusive VR set for my PC until I saw the Buzz about what I already had in my “Toy Box”.
So my game plug of choice will be to bring Gran Turismo to PC. I have had PlayStation since the first Gran Turismo. Yes I’m retired and I still play games because of you and I’m Damn proud of it!! There is still a population of us that have scratched and saved to buy a “PS Whatever” since 1995. Every PlayStation I have every owned always went to those that didn’t or could not afford one. I just gave away my PS4, VR, and 35 physical games to a coworker with a young son at my part time job. She was in tears to get so much and Its been great to do this every time you come out with something new. So my experiences have been most enjoyable and pleasant for nearly 30 years.
Thank you for making sure I stayed a kid all these years!! I plan on being a kid for the next 30 years as well. (without getting a second job for extra money..LOL)

I’m looking forward to being able to make my own VR games in Unreal Engine. Hopefully Sony will have a booth at Unreal Fest next year.

In reply to spyx92. You probably have at least 1 Thunderbolt port on a gaming laptop. (Looks like a USB C port). Mine has Thunderbolt 4 which does support the required Display port 1.4. I hope this will work. (Just need a Thunderbolt to Display Port cable).
